Geometric analysis on stratified spaces

Rafe Mazzeo

Singular objects slightly more general than manifolds arise naturally in many geometric problems. The generalization of familiar results in geometric analysis to these new settings requires an extension of old tools and the development of new ones. I will try to give a feel for this subject by focusing on a few representative problems - the Hodge theorem, and Teichmueller theory - and describing how to generalize them to various types of singular spaces.
