In this talk I'l introduce the idea of commensurability classes of hyperbolic manifolds, providing background for the talk on Wednesday. Why are commensurability classes important? What are hidden symmetries and where can we find them? What's the cusp field and the invariant trace field? What's so special about 2-bridge knots? How are 3D Doritos involved? All these questions and more will be answered.
